I SPY release date and time
SM confirmed on September 14 that I SPY will be released on major music platforms at 6 p.m. KST on October 12. The announcement came with a ‘Confused Boy’ trailer posted at midnight on the group’s official YouTube channel, set inside a digital world the agency calls WISH LAND. Korean outlets framed the news as a confirmed ‘two comebacks in one year’ for the group, following the April full-length album.

I SPY tracklist: what we know
I SPY contains six songs. The title track, also called ‘I SPY’, is described as a hybrid dance-pop song about the rush of a brand-new crush. Three B-sides have been detailed so far:
- We Own This Street – hip-hop-based alternative pop over a heavy beat, about breaking out of city routines and reshaping the streets in the members’ own way.
- UPGRADE – an electronic up-tempo track that continues the game-world story of ‘Videohood’ from the third mini album, with the members cast as a ‘bug’ that breaks through limits.
- Super Major – synth-led pop dance with an upbeat message about believing in your own potential despite an uncertain future.
The remaining two titles had not been described in detail at the time of writing, so expect a full credit list once the album lands on streaming services.

The numbers behind the comeback
NCT WISH enter this release on a strong commercial run. According to Star News, Ode to Love (April 2026) set the group’s best physical sales and streaming records and became its third consecutive million-selling album. In Japan, the July single ‘YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL’ passed 500,000 cumulative shipments and earned an RIAJ Double Platinum certification.
Awards add to the picture: the group took an Album Bonsang at the 2026 Golden Disc Awards and main prizes at the 2025 Seoul Music Awards and Melon Music Awards, according to its public award record.

I SPY also follows the end of NCT WISH’s first concert tour, Into The Wish: Our Wish. The tour opened with three shows at Inspire Arena in Incheon (Oct 31 – Nov 2, 2025, about 24,000 attendees), travelled through nine Japanese cities including Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, and then hit Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Metro Manila, Macau, Bangkok and Jakarta before a Seoul encore at KSPO Dome on April 17-19, 2026.

The dual concept has been the main talking point among fans. The colorful ‘lover boy’ images and the monochrome ‘confused boy’ set gave fans two moods to debate, and the B-side reveal on October 6 was widely shared on K-pop news sites. Many fans have pointed to ‘UPGRADE’ as a sign that the WISH LAND game storyline from ‘Videohood’ is continuing, which rewards long-time listeners who follow the group’s lore.
