PRESS PLAY: Lisa's most personal EP arrives October 23

PRESS PLAY is a six-track EP released through Lisa's own label LLOUD in partnership with RCA Records, with Sony Music Entertainment Korea handling distribution in Korea. It will be available on streaming, digital download, CD and vinyl. It is her first project since the 2025 debut album Alter Ego, and the label describes it as Lisa "at her most personal": a look back at her road from Buriram, Thailand, to the world's biggest stages.

The rollout was built like a mystery. In August, plain red billboards carrying a Thai greeting appeared in Bangkok, New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City. On August 24 a countdown website went live and Lisa officially announced the EP and its lead single.

'SaWaDiKa': a Thai hello that broke YouTube

Lead single 'SaWaDiKa' dropped on September 3. The title comes from the Thai greeting "sawatdee ka" (hello), and the hip-hop track puts Lisa's rap front and centre. The music video, directed by Bang Jae Yeob, was shot around Bangkok, including the historic Hua Lamphong railway station, with Lisa switching between bold high-fashion looks.

The numbers were immediate. The video drew about 70.8 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, the biggest music-video debut of 2026 and second only to Lisa's own 'LALISA' (73.6 million in 2021) among solo artists. It passed 100 million views in roughly two days.

On the charts, 'SaWaDiKa' debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 23 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 13 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. Holding on for a second week made it Lisa's third solo song to spend multiple weeks on the Hot 100, after 'MONEY' (2021) and 'BORN AGAIN' (2025) with Doja Cat and RAYE.

'Always Lalisa': the documentary in cinemas from October 12

Before the EP comes the film. Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, follows Lisa through the year she stepped out on her own: making Alter Ego, her acting debut in HBO's The White Lotus, and preparing for Coachella. The 97-minute documentary, from Sony Music Vision and Trafalgar Releasing, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11 and opens in IMAX and cinemas worldwide on October 12, with a YouTube Premium release planned later in 2026.

At the TIFF red carpet, fans screamed as she arrived. Talking about her solo path, Lisa said: "I just tried to find new things — like what can I do more than this?" Early festival reviews described the film as funny, emotional and a rare look at the person behind the idol image.

VIVA LA LISA: the first K-pop residency in Las Vegas

In November Lisa becomes the first K-pop artist to hold a solo residency in Las Vegas, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The original four dates (Nov 13, 14, 27 and 28) went on sale in April and sold out in about ten minutes. Caesars then added two more shows on November 12 and 29, bringing the run to six nights.

How fans and audiences are reacting

  • Thailand: the governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand publicly thanked Lisa for spreading the Thai greeting worldwide, and Bangkok fans have been visiting the video's locations.
  • YouTube: a record-setting first day and 100M views in about 48 hours show how quickly BLINKs and casual listeners mobilised.
  • U.S. market: a Hot 100 debut plus late-night TV exposure on Jimmy Fallon's show pushed the song beyond the core fandom.
  • Live demand: a ten-minute sell-out and two extra dates in Las Vegas suggest strong appetite for a full PRESS PLAY tour.
